Adam Lerman is a second year medical student at St. George's University in True Blue Point, Grenada. He is originally from New Jersey, USA and hopes to saves lives as Emergency or Trauma Surgeon.
"A big influence that made me pursue medicine was my grandfather Dr. Todd Boff. Not to mention I also had a proclivity towards healthcare, and science ever since a young age.
I knew specifically I wanted to be a surgeon when I got to shadow the Surgery and Trauma team in Morristown Memorial during the summer of 2015. Even after 20 hour days, when most people would say how tired they are, I just wanted to live this 24/7!
Medicine is a growing field, but needs diverse members to bring it to the next level. As a proud member of the LGBT community, I feel that I bring something different to the table. We need to show medicine has no boundaries, regardless of creed, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or nationality. That everyone deserves to be treated equal and with compassion to the fullest extent regardless of who you are.
I’m always looking to collaborate, share resources and learn from other great health professionals!"
