“And the beat goes on!

I picked cardiology because it gave me the opportunity to see a patient from start to finish- diagnosis to treatment. Truthfully my lifelong dream was always to become an Interventional Cardiologist. Ive been lucky to have excellent mentors along the way that have helped me achieve this dream. One of the best feelings as a Cardiologist is walking out of that cardiac catheterization laboratory and being able to tell a family that their loved one had a heart attack and we were able to fix it and that they are going to be alright. To take someone from the verge of death to another chance at life is incredible. Also to be able to become that patients teacher, friend, and coach is what makes it even more satisfying. I encourage everyone to follow their dreams, but keep an open mind as things always change in life and medicine, and one of the best things you can do is attack each day with enthusiasm and a love for what you do!"
